Matched by Ally Condie

My review contains spoilers.

Ally Condie, you have now been added to my list of favorite authors! It didn't take me long at all to read this book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband got this book for me as an anniversary gift. He sure did pick a good one.

I have to admit that initially I was a little disappointed about what was taking place in the story. I didn't like the fact that Cassia was falling in love with Ky instead of Xander like she was meant to. However, as I kept reading I learned how true the love was between Ky and Cassia. I think that Xander's character was just more appealing to me in the beginning. He seemed like the perfect guy. In the end, he also proved that. But both of the guys in this story were well built characters and that made it very easy to love them.

This story intrigued me. I was surprised at the sense of compassion I felt while reading it. While I was reading the scene where Cassia chases after Ky as he is being taken by the Officials, I could feel the passion and love that she expressed for him. There was so much emotion in this story which made it difficult to contain my own! Exciting, romantic, suspenseful; this book has it all!

Out of Breath by Blair Richmond

Wow! I loved this book. I received it as an ARC from Librarything.com and I am so glad that I did! I had a very hard time putting this book down. I love the characters. David and Alex are probably my favorites. I was really enthralled with the book when it came down to the last 50 or so pages. Big twists and turns. The ending leaves a few unanswered questions so I am highly anticipating the next book. I know I will have to wait a while, but it will sure be worth it!

Books Read in September 2011

I'm really upset because this month I haven't had the opportunity to read really anything. My classes have started up again and it is really taking away from my reading time. :( Not loving it at all. But these are the two books that I did manage to read this month:

Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea by Chelsea Handler ~ Two Stars / 272 Pages

The Naked Lady Who Stood on Her Head: A Psychiatrist's Stories of His Most Bizarre Cases by Dr. Gary Small & Gigi Vorgan ~ Four Stars / 288 Pages

Total Pages: 560

Currently I am reading three books:

Out of Breath by Blair Richmond
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book. So far, it's pretty good. First book that I have read by this author and apparently this is the first book to a trilogy. I am looking forward to finishing it.

Room by Emma Donoghue
This book is very difficult to read because it's in a five-year-olds perspective. I haven't made it very far in this book. I'm very weird about proper grammar and the fact that this book is kind of all over the place in that aspect really just gets on my nerves.

Divine By Mistake by P.C. Cast
This one is a VERY slow read. I've been reading it for over two weeks and it's not really grabbing my attention. Hoping that it will get better.

It seems like I have had a run-in with some bad books lately. Out of the two that I've read and the three that I am currently reading, only two of them have really grabbed my attention. Here's hoping that will change soon!
